Mediation
Collaborative Conflict Resolution
A private, flexible process where the parties control the outcome.
The Role of the Mediator
As a mediator, my role is not to decide who’s right or wrong, or to render a verdict. Instead, I help the parties clarify what truly matters, identify shared interests, and explore pathways toward agreement. I act as a facilitator — moderating discussions, easing tension, and helping both sides see the landscape of possible outcomes.
Mediation gives the decision-making power back to the parties themselves — which often leads to more creative, lasting, and satisfying settlements.
Process & Structure
The process usually starts with a joint session where all sides share their perspectives and set goals for resolution. Then we move into private caucuses — confidential one-on-one discussions with each side. This allows open conversation, strategic reflection, and honest assessment of options. Throughout, everything said in mediation remains confidential and cannot be used later in court.
